About the writer.
Hi! My name is Eli de Jongh. I am a Minnesota native from a strong family of intellectuals and hard-working, loving people. I studied Relational Communications, Psychology, and Spanish in my undergrad all while pursuing professional soccer (I am still in the process).
I found my love for writing during my senior year of high school in my AP Literature class. My teacher saw that I had a unique way with words. She took me under her wing, guided me, and helped nurture my passion for the written word.
I continued to write throughout my time in college. This love for writing was realized in several capacities, most of which were heavily academic (theology, history, literature, communications, and psychology research). I also discovered creative writing. My exposure to a variety of diverse topics and writing styles has given me an extensive foundation of knowledge to draw upon.
During my time in school, I was gifted with much more than just the ability to write. I gained all sorts of new perspectives between working with homeless youth and students with intellectual disabilities, as well as coaching and playing soccer, studying abroad in Costa Rica, working at cafes, and being gifted with the most profound and lovely relationships.
Words mean a lot to me. I believe there is a lot of power in the ability to articulate thoughts, synthesize differing points of view, and create shared meaning. I have a great desire to share my ability to do so and I hope to share it with you through my work!
Let’s start writing your story together.
